CALL FOR BOARD NOMINATIONS
JRACraft (James Renwick Alliance for Craft) is seeking nominations for new members of our Board of Directors, to join over the next few years. We’re building a board that reflects the breadth of contemporary American craft and the community that sustains it—collectors, artists, educators, advocates, and professionals who believe in craft as a vital cultural force.
MISSION
JRACraft celebrates and advances American Craft and craft artists by fostering education, connoisseurship, and public appreciation through programs, educational trips, publications, and recognition of excellence in the field. In addition, we provide support to craft artists and museums, including the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
BOARD REQUIREMENTS
● Must be a member of the James Renwick Alliance for Craft for the duration of board service
● All board members serve a two-year term, July to June. This can be renewed up to two additional consecutive terms.
● Serve on two committees or chair one (We recommend first-year board members start with one committee.
● Attend at least half of the board meetings. There are 7-8 meetings a year with no meetings April, July, August, December.
