The James Renwick Alliance for Craft (JRACraft) seeks a part time Membership & Programs Coordinator for immediate hire to add to our small team. The Membership & Programs Coordinator must possess a passion for craft, bringing their enthusiasm to the forefront as they connect with both existing and prospective members. This role will spearhead outreach initiatives, as well as oversee and plan in-person programing events, and assist the team to fulfill the JRACraft mission to foster appreciation, education and connoisseurship of American Craft.
ABOUT THE JAMES RENWICK ALLIANCE FOR CRAFT (JRACRAFT)
JRACraft is a membership-based nonprofit of art enthusiasts, collectors, artists, educators, students, and art professionals who share a passion for contemporary American craft. Our mission is to celebrate and advance American Craft and craft artists by fostering education, connoisseurship, and public appreciation through programs, educational trips, publications, and recognition of excellence in the field. In addition, we provide support to craft artists and museums, including the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, where we have provided more than $3.5 million for acquisitions, exhibitions, public programs, and publications.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• Knowledge of the Contemporary Craft field
• Related prior work experience (Membership, Programing, Adult Education and/or Customer service)
• Self-motivation, reliable, and discipline to work independently and effectively
• Proficiency in basic programs (i.e. Microsoft Office suite and G-suite)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to learn technology efficiently and effectively
• Must be able to lift up to 25lbs for event set-up/take-down
• Knowledge of HubSpot and/or other membership/CRM a plus
ABOUT THE POSITION
Membership (50%)
• Build relationship with all JRACraft Members
• Create, mail, and track new member packets
• Update and maintain email lists/communications as needed
• Communicate with and re-engage lapsed members
• Identify and do outreach with prospective members
• Lead the membership committee to be involved with membership outreach, communication and engagement
• Coordinate all membership campaigns
• Manage member drip email communication
• Create membership reports and tracking documents as needed
• Assist with membership and sponsorship questions over the phone or via email as needed
• Update online Artist Directory as needed
Programing (50%)
• Plan, organize and implement all in-person programs including Caucus events and the Distinguished Artist Series
• Work with staff to create and oversee registrations and reminder notifications
• Assist members over the phone with programs/trip registration
• Participate and/or lead planning meetings as needed
• Lead and work directly with volunteers to organize all in-person events
• Assist in maintaining up-to-date content on the JRACraft website
• Assist with JRACraft email campaigns and marketing as needed
• Support annual fundraiser
• Create, disseminate, and report on event surveys as needed
• Document and update annual event summary document
