The James Renwick Alliance for Craft (JRACraft) seeks a full time Programming & Operations Coordinator for immediate hire to add to our small team. The Programming & Operations Coordinator will ensure smooth daily operations, perform responsible accounting practices, maintain accurate office procedures and assist the Director to fulfill the JRACraft mission to foster appreciation, education and connoisseurship of American Craft.
About the James Renwick Alliance for Craft (JRACraft):
JRACraft is a membership-based nonprofit of art enthusiasts, collectors, artists, educators, students, and art professionals who share a passion for contemporary American craft. Our mission is to celebrate and advance American Craft and craft artists by fostering education, connoisseurship, and public appreciation through programs, educational trips, publications, and recognition of excellence in the field. In addition, we provide support to craft artists and museums, including the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, where we have provided more than $3.5 million for acquisitions, exhibitions, public programs, and publications.
Accounting (35%)
• Schedule and pay all recurring expenses and manage refunds and issue checks
• Create financial reports as needed (for board, specific events, etc.)
• Manage reimbursements and artist payments
• Manage credit card payments, statements and receipts
• Schedule and work with our bookkeeper as her Point of Contact
• Conduct insurance audit and lead in compiling financial audit information
• Oversee timesheets
Operations (30%)
• Schedule and update the office and online calendar
• Manage government event and tax applications with city
• Preparing board meeting documents
• Documenting procedures as needed
• Act as a general editor for public JRACraft content
• Order office supplies and printed materials
• Manage the internship application and hiring process
• Oversee granting calendar and reporting
Programing & Membership (35%)
• Oversee program timelines, planning and organization
• Create and oversee event registrations, reminder notifications and automations
• Assist members over the phone with programs/trip registration
• Lead and work directly with trip organizers to organize trip logistics
• Manage hotel, restaurant and related reservations and contracts
• Assist in maintain up-to-date content on the JRACraft website
• Assist with JRACraft email campaigns as needed
• Create, mail, and track new member packets
• Update and maintain email and Quarterly mailing list
• Provide support for the annual fundraiser, and programs as needed
Candidate Requirements:
• Previous experience working with one of the following is required: Membership system, website builder, email campaign builder, project management software, automation software
• Knowledge of Quickbooks required
• Proficiency in basic administrative programs (i.e. Microsoft Office suite and G-suite)
• Ability to be proactive in identify potential issues while managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Self-motivation and discipline to work independently and effectively
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication skills
• Related prior work experience
• Interest in the arts preferred
