#6. THREE NIGHTS IN HISTORIC CAPE MAY HOUSE

4/12/2024

historic charm by the sea: jennie lane cottage in cape may, new jersey

Enjoy a memorable three-night stay at Jennie Lane Cottage, nestled in the heart of historic Victorian Cape May, New Jersey—America's first seaside resort and National Historic Landmark City.

Beautifully renovated in 2021, the cottage comfortably accommodates up to six guests, offering three bedrooms, two full baths, a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, cozy living room, and a charming porch. Just steps away from both the beach and downtown shopping and dining, this getaway provides the perfect combination of convenience, history, and relaxation.

Cape May was named a National Historic Landmark in 1976, the first city to achieve that status, for having “one of the largest collections of 19th-century frame buildings remaining in the United States.” It’s a landmark because of the amazing concentration of Victorian houses throughout the historic core of the city, and because Cape May was the country’s first real beach resort. In fact, the train from Philadelphia practically let people off on the beach. Cape May is considered among the best beaches in the country.  There are activities all year round, including Victorian Week in October, Christmas in Cape May in December, and the Cape May Jazz Festival in May.
