This is a rare opportunity to secure tickets to the famous Penland School of Craft Benefit Auction before anyone else and experience the local talent with a visit the newly founded Treats Studio in Spruce Pine, NC. 

THIS AUCTION ITEM INCLUDES:
  • 2 full-weekend tickets to the Penland School of Craft Benefit Auction
  • 3 night stay on the Penland campus
  • Meet and Greet Studio Tour of Treats Studio with JRACraft Chrysalis Awardee, Morgan Hill and Distinguished Artist Jack Mauch.

Penland School of Craft
Penland School of Craft is a national craft education center dedicated to the creative life. Located in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains, Penland offers total-immersion workshops in sixteen beautifully-equipped studios along with artist residencies, a gallery and visitors center, and community programs.

​The Benefit Auction is Penland School of Craft’s major annual fundraiser, supporting their mission of Making Lives Meaningful Through Making. A joyous and festive celebration of craft, community, and all things Penland, they welcome collectors, curators, artists, and friends from far and wide.

Treats Studios
Treats Studios is a three story building located in the downtown Spruce Pine, NC. It is home to 18 different artists working in mediums ranging from woodworking to weaving to photography and so much more! JRACraft Chrysalis Awardee, Morgan Hill and Distinguished Artist Series participants Annie Evelyn and Jack Mauch are co-founders of this fun and unique studio located less than 15 minutes away from Penland School of Craft.

Glass Art Society Conference: Wednesday, June 7th –

The GAS four-day conference will gather the global glass community to celebrate community, collaboration and crossover in the Motor City. Over 100 presenters will connect, inspire, and empower attendees with lectures, demonstrations and special events at the College for Creative Studies, the Detroit Institute of Arts and the iconic Russell Industrial Center. This year only, experience a once-in-a-lifetime partnership with Michigan Glass Project, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering their community through the captivating power of glass art and music. Highlights of the conference include lectures "History of the Glass Fashion Show" by Laura Donefer, "Glass Defined (In the Art World)" by Ferdinand Hampson, "Glass art and Technology" by Fumio Adachi, a panel featuring Mary Savig, a performance by Bohyun Yoon and over 40 live demonstrations.

Firestarter Fundraiser: Tuesday, June 6th 6 - 9 PM
at the Atwater in the Park Brewery

Join GAS for an exciting evening to kick off our 2023 conference and raise funds to fuel the fire! Come dressed to burn the house down and bask in the glory of Detroit’s best fire artists while enjoying a host of delicious food and an open bar of beer and wine. Meet fellow glass enthusiasts, reconnect with old friends, and prepare for the excitement of the conference - all while helping to raise money for GAS!

Join Pewabic Pottery, Detroit's National Historic Landmark Pottery,  as they kick off their weekend celebration of Pewabic's 120th Anniversary. Shop Pewabic’s newest designs and ceramic work from artists across the country, enjoy live music from Ben Sharkey, watch artists demonstrate their sculpting process and enjoy a strolling supper and cocktails from Two Unique Catering.
