Glass Art Society Conference: Wednesday, June 7th –
Saturday, June 10th, in Detroit, Michigan
The GAS four-day conference will gather the global glass community to celebrate community, collaboration and crossover in the Motor City. Over 100 presenters will connect, inspire, and empower attendees with lectures, demonstrations and special events at the College for Creative Studies, the Detroit Institute of Arts and the iconic Russell Industrial Center. This year only, experience a once-in-a-lifetime partnership with Michigan Glass Project, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering their community through the captivating power of glass art and music. Highlights of the conference include lectures "History of the Glass Fashion Show" by Laura Donefer, "Glass Defined (In the Art World)" by Ferdinand Hampson, "Glass art and Technology" by Fumio Adachi, a panel featuring Mary Savig, a performance by Bohyun Yoon and over 40 live demonstrations.

Firestarter Fundraiser: Tuesday, June 6th 6 - 9 PM
at the Atwater in the Park Brewery
Join GAS for an exciting evening to kick off our 2023 conference and raise funds to fuel the fire! Come dressed to burn the house down and bask in the glory of Detroit’s best fire artists while enjoying a host of delicious food and an open bar of beer and wine. Meet fellow glass enthusiasts, reconnect with old friends, and prepare for the excitement of the conference - all while helping to raise money for GAS!

Pewabic House & Garden Show Preview Party Fundraiser:
Thursday, June 8 6:00 - 9:30PM, at Pewabic Pottery
Join Pewabic Pottery, Detroit's National Historic Landmark Pottery,  as they kick off their weekend celebration of Pewabic's 120th Anniversary. Shop Pewabic’s newest designs and ceramic work from artists across the country, enjoy live music from Ben Sharkey, watch artists demonstrate their sculpting process and enjoy a strolling supper and cocktails from Two Unique Catering.

place an absentee bid!

Fill out the information below by May 4 at 12 noon to place an absentee bid. All auction awardees will be notified if they have won on Monday, May 8. 

Absentee bids are recorded and are visible to JRACraft and/or the auctioneer during bidding. The auction commences as per normal by firstly establishing a starting bid (usually from the floor in a live auction). Further bids are then asked for at the increment amounts declared by the auctioneer. The JRACraft and/or auctioneer will bid on your behalf against present bidders up to your maximum bid amount. No changes or alterations to submitted bids wills be accepted after April 28. ​
